Browser
lil fun question. While watching high octane jerk material, do u use any normal browser or switching to the TOR browser?

Nah, I don't give a shit. If my ISP hasn't come knocking thus far then they're not coming, and it's not like I'm looking at anything illegal...a lot of it is fucked up, but not illegal.

Plus I have about 20 Firefox addons I use that I'm not keen on losing by switching to another browser, that would be like getting sent back to the stone age for me.

Rule34.xxx complies with Dutch and international law. Unless your Internet access is heavily monitored, you don't need to use anonymizing tools.

HTTPS access can be used to hide most of your activity from traffic monitoring; the "rule34.xxx" name will still show up thru DNS queries, but nobody down the line can tell what kinda stuff you actually look at.

If you accidentally stumble upon rule-breaking or law-breaking material, you can simply report it and move along. You cannot be held liable if there is no intent.

Of course, some material allowed on the website could potentially be considered illegal in some parts of the world. It is your responsibility to know your local laws and comply with them.

From what I know, most individuals convicted for illegal material are initially reported by relatives or colleagues. The ones that get caught without being reported first are usually involved in large-scale operations.

There's nothing wrong with Tor, it's just slow as fuck because there's so much people using it.

After a decade of heavy torrenting and whatnot my ISP has never said a word, so I don't think they're watching too closely :P

I'd still recommend HTTPS wherever possible though.

I have two Firefoxes, because the porn-browsing one has a gazillion tabs open and a bloated history database, so I'd prefer to keep my main browser clean and speedy

I think there's plans to merge TOR and FF; they say "Our primary goal is to un-fork the Tor Browser".
I might even consider TOR myself once this effort progresses

TOR is not evil, it is a tool.

Evil people use the WWW and regular internet too, does that make it evil? no of course not, TOR was created as a tool to allow people to communicate freely and anonymously, just because some use it for 'evil' does not change what TOR is, just as using a Truck to mow people down does not make Trucks evil, savvy?
