'Ello there, ladies, gents, aliens, and all folks between! A new, big name game is out and naturally there's a bit to talk about.
I'm not very far, I just got out of the garage, but I'd still love to talk about it a bit.
For people like me who haven't played much, or people who haven't played at all, I'd like to keep spoilers to a minimum, but readers beware. This is the Internet after all.

All I've seen is the demo.

I'm in the same situation, can't wait to play it though!

I saw the someone who played the demo and it show wayyy too much. Like beyond. Almost give me nightmare.

I'll make it a point to pick it up at some point. Gotta replay 4 at least before I do though, such a great game.

On a less related topic, Capcom's recent stepups are really making me have faith in the company again. SF5, while bare content wise, is a fine game, rereleasing UMVC3 and having MVC: Infinite out soon is a great way to promote other games that might be announced in tandem with character reveals (Devil May Cry 5 and Mega Man 11 pls), and RE7 going back to the roots is one of the best things Capcom have ever done. I'll still be bitter over DmC: DMC and Mega Man Legends 3, but they're really picking themselves up.

Yeah, Capcom (like many game companies) have had their share of screw ups, but it does look like they're getting their shit together.

People are calling it the best Resident Evil since 4, and I have to agree. 4 is still the best, but Christ on a bike is this still good.

Avoided any Let's Plays for as long as I can, but I'm finally going to see how scary Capcom have made Resi since Outbreak.

(Resi4 was fun and all, but not really scary, which makes sense with it originally being Devil May Cry.)

All i wonder is:

Is RE 7 alive? Or is it just the dead corpse of a game series that was gutted to shit, reanimated and killed again?

After they hit it big with 4, they tried going down the action-shooter route and the horror element was all but gone, yet with how popular Outlast got and with PT/Silent Hills having gotten canned, I think Capcom is taking advantage of that opening in the market.

From the demo, I personally like it and can't wait to start - with VR, it must be terrifying since it's right in your face, but there's long puzzle-solving segments involved and you aren't equiped from the get-go to defend yourself like how the original games were.

Either way, it's a "Play it for yourself" situation, the best way to see if you like it is to test it first-hand and if not, you can trade it in for something else.

I don't think RE4 was going to be DMC. DMC was created from a canned idea for RE2. Yeah, 7 is fucking terrifying. My friend says it's predictable as all hell, but it's still a great game.

Anyone else feel like Revelations (either one) will connect to 7?
And am I really the only active user to get the game on release day?

Apparently RE7 connects to Resident Evil: Outbreak files 1 and 2, which makes them canon.

Of course it connects to two of games I haven't played. Welp, better do my research on Outbreak. :p
