First, some history (if nobody minds that I create a whole faction, if not I'll delete this) Because I want you guys to know about the people my character comes from Wall of Text ahead:
The Antorian Empire:
One of the factions resiting the invaders. Controlling over 380.000 systems, these warriors may seem bloodthirsty, but they are as capable of diplomacy as everyone else could be.
Interestingly their history is tied tightly to the Tyrakian race:
The Tyrakians (Homo Sapiens Bellator) were created around the year 9.000 Pre-Terran Time (B.C.), as an alien race called the Elphani discovered Earth and its inhabitants, humans. In their quest to establish Galactic dominance, the Elphani 'harvested' large numbers of the primitive Homo Sapiens and realized the remarkably durable genetic structure. They were amazed by the adaptability and resilience of mankind, so much that they decided to create a race of warriors based on the human genome.
The planet now known as Ryukh served as testing site, as the local inhabitants, the Drajokar, offered heavy resistance against the Elphani invaders. The 'Gene-Smiths' of the Elphani dominion improved upon the human structure, improving eyesight (which resluted in their characteristic 'cat-eyes'), increasing the strength of muscles and bones, giving them tougher skin and even sharper teeth with far more prominent fangs. Not to mention their dominant genome, which would allow them to breed with any other member of the 'Human' family and effecively only create Tyrakians from the pregnancy. However, the new warriors never found deployment, as a Meteor struck Ryukh and trapped wiped out the Elphani on the surface. Within the subterran installations where the Tyrakians were bred and 'indoctrinated' with training. The apparent 'key to dominance' rebelled against their masters with a ferocity they hadn't foreseen, and were all slaughtered by their creations. Once the Tyrakians reached the surface of Ryukh, once a blooming Garden World, now a barren wasteland, they somehow managed to establish peaceful contact with the Drajokar and founded communities in the dangerous enviroment, while salvaging or rediscovering all technology they could. The Elphani simply vanished without a trace.
Fast-Forward 3.000 years of near constant struggle for survival and being surrounded by deadly beasts, and these communities formed into warring Tribes. Each Tribe had its own history and culture and divided itself into dozens, if not hundreds of 'Clans', the Clans were in turn large groups of families, often having a village of town under its control and were, and still are, family in mind rather than blood.
One of those Tribes, the Anto, a small Tribe in a mountainous region in the North of the continent Khura, made a Tyrakian named Kyros a member of theirs. Kyros had no past of his own, despite being far into adulthood, and made a name for himself as tactician, advisor and master of logistics, with his leadership abilities being his most famous trait.
He lived among the Anto for a decade, until the Clan was attacked by the Thunderforged Tribe, a Tribe that managed to retain the art of crafting Power Armor, and completely wiped the Anto out, safe for Kyros and his hunting party. That day, Kyros made a decision that would change Ryukh forever. In order to survive, he knew, the constant strife must end.
Over the course of the next two decades, Kyros managed to unite the majority of the Tribes under his banner and used their vast resources and diplomacy to either bring some of the remaining independent Tribes into the fold, or to annihilate them in open warfare.
Later, after establishing contact with the Pju race which happened during the time known as Age of Conquest, the newly-born Empire quickly expanded its borders. Creating massive fleets and armies to claim new worlds. Planets or interstellar nations not willing to submit to imperial authority were given the option to become Protactorates, States de-facto under imperial authority, but with their own Governments and militaries.
Now the Empire is a bulvark of unity in the Galaxy, controlled by elected Warlords who in turn elect the Emperor, with hundreds of Protectorates all abiding to Imperial Law.
But a threat looms on the Horizon, and the Antorian Empire steels itself for the oncoming storm.
(How is this in terms of lore?)
