The site's load times have been really inconsistent today, often becoming unresponsive for over 30 seconds.
It doesn't seem to be a problem with the image server, but the main PHP server.

I noticed ipv6 on the primary server went a little haywire for a few min today but that's about it. Traffic looks stable and no downtimes reported, CPU is also heavily under-loaded. After the pewdiepiew flood from last year i got a new server with 2x E5-2683 v3 CPU's to make sure we'll be able to handle a magnitude more traffic then normal traffic :)

Maybe it has something to do with a broken node on the way? Try traceroute to see if there are high pings on the way here.

28 total cores… damb!

Thanks, I'll try that when it starts lagging again.
Wouldn't be the first time my ISP's dropped the ball like you're suggesting

---

Never found any anomalies with tracert;

But I did discover that when image and gallery pages aren't loading, I'm still able to change tag types (copyright/artist/etc.) reliably with almost instant response time.

Maybe the size of data in the response is a factor, but I don't think so because when the pages eventually do load, they all load at once, like the bottleneck has suddenly been lifted.

I'm starting to think the problem might actually be in my browser; I'll investigate more later

Edit: turns out there seemed to be some script stalling in some early stage of loading. I blocked all 3rd-party content and now every page is loading fine.

Edit2: turns out blocking scripts only slightly mitigated the problem; I'm now pretty confident that this bug is the real cause: bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1192585
perhaps R34 pages are most affected because I have hundreds of R34 tabs open

Img fail on delete button
For some reason, the delete button in my inbox has gone derp. I'm getting a box with a generic image placeholder and 'delete message ID.'.

I am as well. It's difficult to tell who I'm even getting messages from until I click on the message itself.

I'm not having that problem, I know why, I'm not saying.

I don't get any kind of image, just the 'delete message ID'. As a result, my inbox is about four times taller than it should be. Any quick fix I could use?

Might just be me, but placing the mouse over a note on a picture isn't making the note pop up like normal.

That's AdBlock throwing another tantrum, it seems. I tested the provided image, it didn't work for me. Thinking that it must be specific to that one, I went to one of my favorites, but the notes weren't displaying either. Then, I disabled the program, refreshed, and by miracle, it worked. And just to push it to the max, I re-enabled it again, refreshed, and it's back in full force again.

uBlock origin is the original and much more stable, consider trying it :)

I'll do just that, whenever I take a break off of procrastination.

I'm pretty sure both uBlock and AB+ use the same filter list by default, right? I can't imagine switching to uB will fix this. Unless it's some bug in the element-hiding code.

Not that I'm saying uBlock isn't vastly superior, which it is.

Also I'm not seeing the notes problem in my browser (Firefox 50 + uB 1.10.6)
