Rule of thumb: Never say or play with anyone who goes "Heheheh", like ever. That is clear indication that only a half-assed effort is going to be made.

When I roleplay. I sometimes use html bold and italian to differentiate the speech and action/thinking

She thought she left her oven on when she took off to the nearby grocery store. She asid:
Oh no, I must've forgotten something!

Just the common way of writing literature. Though I forget very often if roleplayer asks me to write in present verbs instead of past verbs, since I like reading thing like often in past.

Be sure to use proper pronouns, if you are RPing with someone use "i suck your cock" not "i suck his cock". You'd be surprised how many times i have run into this problem, really kills the mood for me.

But then again depending what RP is and its story. Are characters personified as the user or is the character made out by scratch as outside character? I myself hate using myself as "character", so "I suck your/his cock" in very most cases is "She sucks your/his cock" depending if the person itself wants to be idealizing itself inside it.
Some like being "part" of the story, some simply like to be the "narrator" and follow through the own written story like reading a book.

I think the most obvious thing is be as clear as possible with your partners. Discuss EVERYTHING, writing style, likes...obviously don't plan everything out but you have to communicate with folks.

yeah i don't think people will actually follow this, sadly. This is rule34 we're talking about (also first person POV will ALWAYS make me uncomfortable-)

Facts.
This is the most important thing of all.

See all the rules/expected things are just that. Things you expect. An RP between 2 people with one liners back and forth with no describing of actions and/or detail can be the best RP ever from their perspective.

As you long as you communicate and establish a mutual understanding it doesn't matter how the RP goes because its what was agreed on.

Unpopular opinion here:

Not everybody on this site is a good roleplayer.

Unfortunately true.

Lol man do I wish people on here actually followed rules 9 and 10. It is so soul crushing to be ditched in mid conversation, even worse when you finally started the RP with a person. Guys I promise you it just takes 10 seconds to say you're busy or it's not gonna work out.

Or you could use quotation marks. That's literally what they're meant for.

Asking for personal info such as one's address at any point during the RP is obviously a red flag. Suggesting to take someone out for a date afterwards is also a big no-no for me.
It appears that some people can't and won't see the difference between this site and Tinder.

Anch'io posso usare l'italiano nei miei "roleplays". Pero non sono cosi bravo perche non scrivo in l'italiano tanto.

Don't know why exactly you would use a different language to differentiate but you do you.

(I know she made a mistake but it was too funny for me to just sit there and not say anything haha)

Luckily I do follow almost all those standards, it's just hard for my partner to do the same. Majority is with dealing with one-liners, people quickly assuming I'll play a femboy at the very least just for their pleasure, or too much on discussing the RP which'll lead to silence. People can be that hasty but how would I know what you like?

I don't like it when people jump right into it, I mean I hate it when I get a descriptive message outta nowhere to the point where you just freak out anyone. I'm a dude and you're making it weird for just yourself, do not be a creep. And refering to the other guys who think a girl would like to be very degraded. Unless you're given permission.

Just respect that please, they may like it possibly. But irl, they have a normal life on their end.

You don't know the whole ass to understand what everyone's version of "half" is.
