It's not just the forums for me though. It's the pm/mail system too. People just drop me like I'm stuffed animal and move on....

It's usually because they don't have time, or they just don't feel like it, it can also be because they felt pressured to rp, people have demanded rp before and it's such a turn off when they do, in fact it can put you off rp forever, I know :)
RP involves people directly so it's a little different entertainment medium, but people still like to be able to take it or leave it, because having a commitment to your pass time is a bit much.
Bottom line is, they go because they wanted to, for whatever reason and you really need to get used to it, because it's always going to be like that.

I agree that the rp's on here are more just bland cyber sex. If I wanted to read written sex I'd just go over to literotica.com or lushstories.com or read the books by Megan Hart. They are far more detailed and much more intense, something men could learn a thing or two about.
I personally get really really detailed myself, and I rarely get to complete an rp I've done with another girl. We get too sexually exhausted after about 5 hours of nonstop rp'ing and say "we'll complete it another day" but never do and just start another one XD
