Mia unfolded the list she scrawled out earlier, skimming the page to try and get a general idea of what most of the ingredients were. "It seems we're low on almost all of our grains, I'll need to pick up a few spices too, but it sounds like it'll be in the same area... However I also need honey, I don't know where I'd find that." She let out a concerned hum, "Ah yes, and we'll need mea--" The bump in the road startled her and cut off her sentence with a gasp. Unsure what she was meant to do, the girl peered out the window and quickly forgot about her list for the moment, more worried about the commotion.

The gravely alto of Sydney's came stern, as she moved to sit next to the maid she was guarding. "You let me worry about what's out in the night. That's my job. Yours is to get the foodstuffs." It was more maternal, or even big sister, correction, than an outright order, but the female knight could have been more pleasant about it, regardless. "Meat? Were you about to say meat? That is the closest. We'll start with spices. The honey, if I'm not too terribly mistaken, is between those and the grains."

"...Yeah." Mia steadied herself as the carriage came to a stop, seeming to fall silent as she got out. Clutching the basket to her chest she headed for what looked like a promising merchant, it was clearly a butcher shop but upon closer inspection there seemed to be more unusual things in stock. "A dragon's talon?" She blinked down at the claw on display. "Is it real? Why would a butcher's shop have something like this?"

Sydney hadn't used the maid's name yet, although she knew it well enough, despite Mia not working at the castle long. "Mia. Spices. Honey. Grains. Then meat." She stated as calm as she could, hand on her broadsword's sheath now. Upon closer inspection, the knight raised an eyebrow. "So...that's what became of the beast Sir Reginald and I slew..." she huffed disapprovingly. "Well, they eat enough of us...about time we returned the favor." She then hurried the maid to the far end of the market to get the farthest items first., hand across her stomach to whip out the sword at a moment's notice, yet still hoping there would be no need.

"A-ah, right!" Reluctantly the maid drew away from the shop as she was towed across the market, her mind swimming with all sorts of thoughts except the task at hand. She hardly had the focus to manage the trip, but Sydney had a way of snapping her back to reality. After gathering up the spices she began making her way around in search of honey, "May I ask, what does a dragon truly look like? I have never seen one in person... Not that I want to." She idly toyed with a merchant's selection, watching the thick bottled honey slowly seep from either end as she tilted it. "Why would someone want a dragon's claw anyways?"

Sydney shrugged as she focussed more on keeping an eye out, than Mia spilling honey on her fingers...or wherever else it would go. "Horrific creatures. the lot of them. They would soon eat you or roast you than look at you. They stand about five to twelve meters high. (In case we aren't using those...15-36 feet), as you saw by that talon...the one it took two of us to bring down was only six or seven. A non-skilled fighter would still be just as dead. So would any commoner. Enough of that. If they have actual dragon meat, and not...novelties, we should get some for this ambassador, if it's not unreasonably priced."

I make my way into the city, although it is late at night the city is still bustling, merchants trying to flog their wares, various folk wandering the stone paved streets, some ending their work day whilst others stagger out of the drinking halls, and what city would be complete without a few "ladies of the night" occupying the alleyways and street corners.

I manage to find a more quiet path to head down as I search for a local inn to rent a room for the night. After walking through the maze like streets I finally find the inn, just as I go to push the door open I step back and take a look around, "At least I wasn't followed this time." I think to myself as I walk through the threshold.
