Favorite obscure games?
Hello all! This is my first time starting a thread (technically, it's my second, but my first was deleted. And yes, I know why. That was back when I was pretty new to this site...) Now, since I'm getting off track, and since I suck at writing introductions, I'll get straight to the point.

Are there any "obscure" video games you happen to like? For those who aren't aware, "obscure" is defined as something that is relatively unpopular or unknown.
Examples of these include discontinued franchises, or just standalone titles. To get the list started, here are a few of my favorites:

Rival Schools:United by Fate (Arcade, Later ported to PS1)
Rampart (NES)
Secret of Evermore (SNES)
Tempo (Sega 32X)
Pen Pen Tricelon (Dreamcast)
Rocket Knight Adventures (SNES/Mega Drive)
Donkey Konga series (GCN)
The World Ends with You (NDS)

Feel free to share a few of yours. If it exists, chances are I've heard of it ;)

I'm honestly not sure how to answer this as I don't know if my picks would count as obscure or not.

Long Live the Queen
Path of Exile
Sanctum 2

All those were on sale on Steam (except PoE, free to play)
and there was this new game I picked up called Conception 2 on the Nintendo 3DS e-shop that had a pretty run of the mill save-the-world plot but uses some kind of dating-sim/RPG crossover where you have to have lots and lots of children to fight monsters with you.

Personally, I think it's very lackluster compared to games like Silent Hill or Alone in the Dark. However, it has a certain charm to it.
I like the puzzle solving and co-op mechanics, but in terms of legitimate horror, it's not all that great. There were one or two moments that made me jump, but nothing special.
As far as jump scares go, that goddamn window dog from the original Resident Evil takes first prize.

First off, I like how you put the X at the end, because that's what it's called.
Second, I appreciate the fact you brought it up. But here's the thing: I wouldn't exactly count it as obscure.
A lot of people know about this game, and it is often discussed by those who experienced it, as well as referenced in creepypasta.

In fact, if you haven't played it, I suggest you do. Not too long ago, I played it for the first time (via an emulator on my PC.) It is, without a doubt, the weirdest fuckin' game I have ever played. Trust me, you'll see why 0-o

Yeah, I saw the trailer for that; it looks interesting. Then again, most of Atlus' titles have some kind of unique gimmicks to them.

It reminds me of a PSX game called Thousand Arms. It had a mechanic very similar to Conception, minus the children.
Coincidentally, that game was also published by Atlus.

Oh, I play the living HELL out of Astyanax. I still own it, actually. Probably my favorite NES game next to Rampart.

It was a pleasant surprise when I played it for the first time. It's as fun to play as it is difficult to beat.

Little Samson is also fun.
