Without evaluating each individual kink, it's true that some are more accepted than others. Right now, foot fetish is at an all-time high in popularity and acceptance. The incest kink mentioned above is perhaps at an all-time low. Twenty years from now, those two could be reversed for all I know.

Ultimately, this is a matter of trust in the relationship. It takes a leap of faith to reveal something which feels intimate and vulnerable to a partner. We have to be accepting and hope that our partners return the favor.
