More of a general reasoning, at least in my opinion, is most tend to me quite niche. Hence why the same 5 people or so keep their little thing going on. I'm quite perplexed as to why it's public when it can be easily RPed in private but to each their own I suppose.
Not many love to display their scenes for the public too. I myself fall in this category.

Honestly. I think ots just because how chaotic public RP is.

It's easy to miss a post, you can be ignored, drama, and the fact that everything is jumbled up. It's a huge mess.

As someone who's been around for a while and was a part of the longer lasting RP threads I can give some insight. One reason is it's just too much of commitment. Lot of the more successful threads were very lax in their nature. The 2 that comes to mind were the hot springs thread and tropical beach thread.

What were those threads about? Well, pretty much nothing outside of their location idea. You didn't really need a write a character bio, there was nothing to be advanced if weren't around, you could just show up and hang out in there. Horny Shit has a lot in common with how lot of those threads went and look how many posts are in there.

Sooner or later every thread turns into ads or it's forgotten, no in between.

Asking yes, but open RP's where people can join are allowed.

Why are they not banned? They're super annoying.
