It really comes down to how well preserved the zombie in question is. Aaaand most zombies portrayed in fiction media are in horrible condition. Even if the zombie has no intention of biting you, and even if you avoid whatever disease that causes you to turn into a zombie, you're still looking at a WIDE range of possible non-zombie diseases to pick up through the contact of necrotic flesh.
