Wait, mods can lock comments?
So of all the places I could find a locked comment section, it was a goddamn skibidi toilet piece: rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=8659826

The question is, why did a mod do that? What truth do they hide from us!? Do they fear skibidi toilet? Why would they silence the voice of millions!?

Probably because of unfunny chain/memes/non-sequitur/whatever comments. Comment locking has been a thing for a while, it's nothing new.

Now I wonder how you'll react when you hear that they can lock tags.

I mean I'll take funny joke and meme comments over the annoying and usually gross roleplay shit any day of the week.

But they can lock tags!? *Shocked Power face*

They can lock images so the tags for that image can't be edited. They usually only do this if there has been a "tag war" on the image, where the same tag or set of tags keeps getting added and then removed over and over again.

If an image has been tag-locked it doesn't give a warning, it just doesn't accept any edits you might make and the tags remain the same as they were before you edited them.

Tag-locked images can be unlocked for edits, but you'd have to request that action directly from a moderator. In order for them to grant your request you'd need to be a trusted tagger and not someone looking to start the tag war on that image all over again, so it would be a good idea to include a list of the edits you plan to make in the request DM.

I think there was a situation where a moderator added the suggested tag(s) to a highly disputed image themself rather than unlock it for public tagging, but I might be wrong about that.
