I just wanna know who els watches this awsome show

It's one of the greatest, if not THE greatest Mecha anime ever because it has an actual ending, AND defeating the villain actually involves a giant robot fight. They don't spend the last two episodes talking with an allegory for God about whether to spare humanity like EVERY fucking mecha anime that came after Evangelion.

Im gonna get myself a new asshole torn over this but I ended up dropping it because of the completely random timeskip in the middle of the anime that threw me off.

The show is great because it's another one of those shows that has good character development, overcoming obstacles and comradery between bros. It's also silly, and has giant, Universe sized robots.

If you liked that show, watch Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. It also has cool A.I. copilot robots.

On a side note, I feel like the creators of Gurren Lagann need a big hug. "Who hurt you?" I get that feeling with a lot of anime. Anime is great in making you explore complex, ambiguous emotions. Sometimes you just want to watch something funny, though.

Also, please go check out Please Save My Earth if you like getting emotionally wrecked. It's a great show adapted from the manga. I think the manga was completed, but they didn't do a 2nd season for the OVA.

I can't get into these new shows that are all about being the biggest baddie on the block. It's such b.s. The only character development is "look, I got stronger! Now I kick your ass!" which is fine, if there's actual development of character and growth as a person/maturity/wisdom going on. You'd think people were only interested in having power for the sake of power to wield over others.
